Blueberry

  • Blueberry may be a small berry but the history behind this berry is very long. Journey of this berry starts in 1893. There are many discoveries and inventions made in the use of blueberry. In 1893 Elizabeth White saw the great potential in blueberry in farming, later in 1910 coville discovered that blueberry can only grow in acidic soil. Afterwards in 1916, White and coville harvested the blueberry crop and sold first blueberry fruit. In 1932, the state of New Jersey awarded White for her contribution towards agricultural productions.
  • And today blueberry is used in more than 4000 products including Jam, Syrup, Crushes, Juices, also pet foods and cosmetics. Blueberry is grown in United states, Canada, France, Germany, Etc.
  • Interesting fact is one large handful of juicy blueberries contains just 44 calories having 2 grams of dietary fiber and 10% of your daily recommended vitamin C content.
