  • What an interesting fruit!! Despite their name, strawberries aren't technically berries, they're accessory fruits. Strawberry is the only fruit which wears around 200 seeds on their body.
  • Did you ever wonder why a strawberry is called a straw-berry??  It is not shaped like a straw and it’s not even the same colour as straw In fact in the olden days farmer used a bed of straw on the ground to save the berries from spoiling on contact with moist soil these days farmers use a plastic bed that keeps berries high and dry. It is the first fruit that ripens in the spring season.
  • The most strawberry cultivators are in California which produces 75% of strawberry crops in U.S. This small berry is an excellent source of vitamin C and manganese and also contains decent amounts of vitamin B9 and potassium. Also they are very rich in antioxidants and plant compounds, which may have benefits for heart health and blood sugar control. Strawberry is eaten raw or as processed product like jam, crush, syrup, ice-cream, or with cream.
